This is a 8 way DIP Switch. Basically, it is just 8 switches in one package. Each switch has two terminals and the contact between them closes everytime the switch is put to the On position. It comes with a 0.1"(2.54 mm) pitch and can be used on general purpose prototyping boards and DIP Switches are great for taking settings, codes, addresses, etc
